We are now actively seeking people who are interested in being involved at committee level of this new association. Please contact Brian or Lea if you would like to be one of the inaugural members of this exciting new Association for SMART BOWEN® Therapy.
Over the years many past students, qualified therapists or practitioners have asked us to form an association to represent them, particularly those who came through the equine and small animal fields.
In 2008 we will endeavour to establish the Smart Bowen Therapists Association.
The association will be an independent organization from Smart Bowen Pty. Ltd., and will be run by its members, not the directors of Smart Bowen Pty. Ltd, although we will be part of the initializing process.
This association will be catering primarily to the Equine and Small Animal Therapists and Practitioners, but will be open to the Human Therapists and Practitioners as well. There will be membership categories for all three sectors.
The aim of the association will be to:
- Promotional material to support the Equine and Small Animal Therapists in the form of regular group advertising and webpage establishment linking to other sites.
- To establish and maintain professional standards for the professional practice of Equine and Small Animal Therapists.
- To further develop the practice of Equine and Small Animal SMART BOWEN® Therapy.
- To provide economical insurance with good cover for all members.
- To provide a chat room where Therapists can discuss their cases or other topics of interest.
- To promote membership for international persons who have completed training with SMART BOWEN® Therapy.
The Smart Bowen Therapy Association is not being designed to replace the current state associations who are affiliated with the BTFA Inc. We encourage all persons who have trained with SMART BOWEN® to maintain their membership of the BTFA member association in their home state.
The Smart Bowen Therapy Association will not be involved with securing private health fund ‘Provider’ status for the People Therapists, as this is already available through the BTFA Inc.
The association aim will be to have a minimum committee base - run with minimal ease.

Footnote: The Smart Bowen Therapy Association will begin establishment once the SMART BOWEN® Equine and Small Animal training programs have been government accredited. We are near to completion of this process as of April 2008.
